Retouch Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

We do not require an account. The App does not ask for a name, email, or password up front — an optional Google sign-in is described separately below.

• Device identifier.On first launch, the App reads a platform-provided identifier (Android’s ANDROID_ID or iOS’s identifierForVendor — a randomly generated id if neither is available) and sends it to our server, which creates a record for your device. This is how the App recognizes you across app opens without requiring sign-in.
• Photos you choose to edit. When you generate an edit, the App sends that photo to our server, which forwards it to our AI processing partner to generate your result. See How your photo is processed below.
• Your edit instructions. Whatever you type, and/or the quick-edit chips you tap, are combined into one instruction that is sent alongside your photo and stored with your edit history so you can see it again in the History screen.
• The edited (output) photo. The AI-generated result is stored on our server so your History screen and re-share/re-save actions keep working after the session ends. See Data retention below for how long.
• Google account name and email — only if you choose to sign in. See Google Sign-In below.
• Purchase and subscription status.If you buy a credit pack or subscribe to a paid tier, the purchase itself is handled entirely by Apple’s or Google’s own payment system — we never see your payment card details. RevenueCat, a third-party service we use to verify purchases, receives your device identifier (the same one used to recognize your device, see above) plus whatever Apple or Google reports about the transaction. • App usage events, collected by Google via Firebase Analytics. See Analytics below.
• Information you provide directly. The only other personal information we ever receive is whatever you choose to include in an email if you contact us.

2. How we use information

• To generate the photo edit you requested.
• To show your own past edits back to you in the History screen.
• To recognize your device (or your account, once signed in) across app opens.
• To understand which features people actually use, via Firebase Analytics.
• To verify a purchase or subscription and unlock what it paid for, via RevenueCat.
• To respond to support requests sent to us by email.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use your photos for any purpose unrelated to generating and showing you the edit you asked for.

3. How your photo is processed

Generating an edit requires an AI image model that we do not run ourselves. When you tap Generate, your photo and your combined instruction (free-text prompt and/or quick-edit chip wording) are sent to:

• Replicate (flux-kontext-pro). Generates your edited photo from the original image and your combined instruction.

Your original photo is forwarded to this processor and is never itself written to our own disk, storage bucket, or database — only the AI’s generated output is saved on our side (see Delete your data below). This processor receives your photo only to perform this processing on our behalf — not to serve you ads, and not to build a profile of you. We don’t control its systems directly, so we encourage you to review its own privacy policy for how it handles data it processes.

4. Google Sign-In (optional)

The App works fully without signing in. If you choose to tap “Sign in with Google” from the Profile screen, the App verifies your Google identity (via Firebase Authentication) and attaches your Google account’s name and email to your existing device record — it does not create a second, separate account. This is offered purely to make your identity persist beyond a single device’s local storage; declining it does not limit any feature of the App.

5. Analytics

The App uses Google Analytics for Firebase, which records screen views (Home, Edit, Generating, Result, Profile, History) and specific events — starting, finishing, or failing an edit, saving or sharing a result, and signing in with Google — together with general device and app-version information. These events are associated with an internal id we assign your account, not directly with your device identifier, email, or photos. The App does not use Crashlytics or any other crash-reporting service.

6. No ads

Retouch contains no advertising network and shows no ads. The only outside parties that ever receive information from your use of the App are the AI processor named above (to generate your edit) and Google, for Firebase Authentication and Analytics as described above.

The App requests the following device permissions and uses them only for the stated purposes:

• Camera. Used to take a new photo to edit.
• Photo library (read). Used to choose an existing photo to edit.
• Photo library (add). Used to save an edited result to your camera roll when you choose to.

9. Purchases

Retouch may offer optional purchases — for example a credit pack or a subscription. Any purchase is billed and processed directly by Google Play or the App Store under their own payment systems — we never receive or store your card or payment account details. We use RevenueCat, a third-party service, to verify your purchase and unlock what it paid for; RevenueCat receives your device identifier (the same one described above) plus whatever Apple or Google reports about the transaction itself.

10. Delete your data

We keep the edited (output) photo, your combined edit instruction, and a timestamp for every edit you generate, so your History screen keeps working — these are not automatically deleted. Your original, unedited photo is never written to our storage or database in the first place; it is forwarded to our AI processing partner and discarded once your result comes back.

To delete your edit history and device/account record, email rpapps25@gmail.com with your device’s identifier (Settings → Profile, if signed in with Google, include that email) and we will delete your stored edits and record. Uninstalling the App does not, by itself, delete anything stored on our server — only what was ever stored locally on your device. Purchase and subscription records are retained by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat as transaction records per their own retention practices — we can’t delete those on your behalf, as we don’t control them.

11. Children’s privacy

Retouch is designed for a general audience and we do not knowingly collect personal information, including photos, from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at rpapps25@gmail.com and we will delete it.

12. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information. See Delete your data above for how, or email us directly at rpapps25@gmail.com.

13. Security

Photos and account data are sent to our server over an encrypted connection. Edited photos are stored in a private cloud storage bucket that is never publicly accessible — the App reaches them only via short-lived, signed links. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the revised policy.
