QuizMe Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 9, 2026
AI Apps ("we", "us", or "our") develops QuizMe (package id dev.ai_app.quizme), a real-time 1v1 trivia game for mobile devices (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
QuizMe requires an account to match you with opponents and keep your stats, so unlike some of our other apps, this one does collect and store personal information on our server. This policy explains exactly what, why, and how to delete it.
1. Information we collect
- Account information. An email address and, if you sign up with email, a password (we only ever store a one-way bcrypt hash of it — we can’t see or recover your actual password). If you sign in with Google or Apple instead, we receive and store your email, name, and (for Google) profile photo from that provider, plus a stable identifier from Apple so we can recognize you on a return visit (Apple only sends your email the very first time you sign in).
- Display name & profile photo. Shown to other players on match results, friend lists, challenges, and leaderboards. If you sign in with Google, your name/photo comes from your Google account; QuizMe never asks you to upload a photo directly.
- Gameplay data. Your quiz answers, response times, scores, wins/losses, match history, XP, streaks, and per-topic stats — needed to run matches and show your progress.
- Friends & challenges.Your friends list and any challenges you send or receive. Adding a friend uses an in-app search by display name only — QuizMe never accesses your device’s contacts.
- Push notification token. If you allow notifications, we store a token (provided by Expo, not tied to your identity beyond your account) used to deliver notifications like an incoming challenge.
- Login sessions. A hashed record of your active sessions (refresh tokens), used only to keep you signed in and to detect and shut down a stolen session.
- Basic technical data. Like virtually any server, ours necessarily processes request metadata (such as IP address and timestamps) to operate the service, secure it, and apply rate limits. We do not use this to build an advertising profile of you.
- Information you provide directly. Whatever you choose to include in an email if you contact us for support.
2. How we use information
- To create your account and sign you in.
- To match you with opponents in real time and run your quiz matches.
- To calculate scores, XP, streaks, and leaderboard rankings.
- To power friends and challenges between players.
- To deliver push notifications you’ve allowed.
- To operate, secure, and improve the App, and to prevent abuse.
- To respond to support requests sent to us by email.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Third-party services
QuizMe uses a small number of external services, each only for a specific purpose:
- Google Sign-In. If you choose to sign in with Google, Google shares your email, name, and profile photo with us. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Sign in with Apple. If you choose to sign in with Apple, Apple shares your email (only on your first sign-in) and a stable account identifier with us. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat. If you subscribe to QuizMe Pro, RevenueCat manages and verifies your subscription entitlement. It may receive your device identifier and purchase information from Google Play or the App Store. We never receive or store your card or payment account details ourselves. See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.
- Expo push notifications. If you allow notifications, Expo’s infrastructure relays them to Apple/Google’s own push services on our behalf. See Expo’s Privacy Policy.
QuizMe contains no advertising network and no analytics or crash-reporting SDK.

5. Subscriptions & payment
QuizMe offers an optional Pro subscription. Any purchase is billed and processed directly by Google Play or the App Store under their own payment systems — we never receive or store your card or payment account details. RevenueCat is used only to verify that a valid subscription is active on your account.
6. Data retention & account deletion
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active, so you can keep playing, keep your friends and stats, and be found by opponents you’ve played before.
You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account inside the App. When you do:
- Your email, password, display name, profile photo, and Apple/Google account link are permanently removed.
- Every device you’re signed into is signed out immediately.
- Your push notification token is deleted.
- Your past match results are kept in de-identified form only — this is what lets the opponents you played against keep an accurate match history and stats of their own. Nothing in a de-identified match record can be used to identify you once your account is deleted.
This action cannot be undone. If you’d rather request deletion without opening the App (for example, after uninstalling it), email us at contact@ai-app.devfrom the address on your account and we’ll process it within 30 days.
7. Children’s privacy
QuizMe is designed for a general audience aged 13 and up, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. QuizMe matches you with other real players you may not know, which is part of why it isn’t directed at children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at contact@ai-app.dev and we will delete it.
8. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or a copy of your personal information, to object to certain processing, or to delete your account (see Data retention & account deletion above for the fastest way to do that in-app). For any other request, email us at contact@ai-app.dev.
9. Security
Passwords are stored as one-way bcrypt hashes, never in plain text. Session tokens are stored as hashes, not raw values, so a database read alone can never expose a usable credential. All traffic between the App and our server is encrypted in transit. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the revised policy.
